Standards for Ethical and Responsible Conduct in Research at St. Clair College
The College’s research policies set forth standards for ethical and responsible conduct that must be adhered to by all individuals involved in research activities, including staff, students, and visitors. In conducting our research, individuals are expected to:
- Uphold integrity, professionalism, fairness, equity, and intellectual honesty.
- Manage any conflicts of interest, or potential conflicts, clearly and transparently.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved in the research process.
- Document and share their research methods and findings in ways that encourage scrutiny and open discussion.
Researchers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the College’s policies and guidelines on research integrity and utilize them as a guide.
Research Security Standards
St. Clair College’s Research and Innovation Department is dedicated to upholding a secure research environment through the following measures:
- Access Control: Strict protocols for accessing research data and facilities, including secure storage, encryption, and regular audits.
- Training: Mandatory training on research security, data management, and ethical standards for all research personnel.
